Rohan Arrendal Evolution Guide — Stages and Requirements
The Arrendal is the Trinity race's unique weapon in R.O.H.A.N.: Eternal Vengeance, and like all living weapons it eventually hits a hard growth cap where it can no longer gain experience. Evolution breaks that cap, allowing the Arrendal to grow again and reach the next stage of power. Every Trinity player aiming for endgame progression needs to complete this process at least twice.
When your Arrendal reaches its maximum level and sits at 100% EXP, it cannot gain any more experience until you evolve it. Evolution is performed at a dedicated NPC inside Arbelorn and requires the Arrendal to be refined to at least +1 before the process can begin. On a successful evolution the Arrendal changes its appearance and advances to the next stage — Stage 1, then Stage 2 — each time unlocking a higher level ceiling.
Two things happen the moment evolution completes: the Arrendal's enhanced (refinement) value resets to zero, and its appearance changes to reflect the new stage. However, any options you obtained through Transmutation are not reset — Transmutation options carry through evolution intact. The process repeats for each stage:
- Arrendal reaches maximum level and sits at 100% EXP.
- Refine your Arrendal to +1 or higher.
- Travel to the Evolution NPC inside Arbelorn.
- Evolve — Arrendal advances to Stage 1 (appearance changes, enhanced value resets).
- Repeat the full cycle to advance from Stage 1 to Stage 2.
Item Stats
The table below shows the level threshold for each evolution, the minimum enhanced value required, the Crystal grade needed as a material, and the quantity of that Crystal consumed.
| Arrendal Level | Required Enhanced Value | Material | Material Qty |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 → 21 | +1 | Grade E Crystal | 1 |
| 40 → 41 | +5 | Grade E Crystal | 4 |
| 60 → 61 | +6 | Grade D Crystal | 9 |
| 80 → 81 | +7 | Grade C Crystal | 19 |
| 100 → 101 | +8 | Grade B Crystal | 25 |
| 120 → 121 | +9 | Grade A Crystal | 35 |
| 121 ~ 128 | — | Grade A Crystal | 70 |
Materials must be Rare, Unique, or Ancient weapons with the specified enhanced value or higher. Crystal grade requirements increase significantly at level 60 and above — start stockpiling Grade C and higher Crystals well before you reach those thresholds.
Quick Tips
- Evolve at the NPC inside Arbelorn — no other location offers the evolution option.
- Complete all Transmutation on your Arrendal before refining for evolution; Transmutation options survive evolution but the enhanced value does not.
- The enhanced value resets on evolution, so do not invest heavily into refinement beyond the minimum required at each stage.
- Grade A Crystals are required in the largest quantities (35 for the 120 → 121 threshold, 70 for 121 ~ 128) — farm or stockpile them early.
FAQ
Q: Does evolution reset my Transmutation options?
A: No. Transmutation options are preserved through evolution. Only the enhanced (refinement) value resets to zero.
Q: Where is the Evolution NPC located?
A: The Evolution NPC is inside Arbelorn. You must travel there to perform each evolution — it cannot be done remotely.
Q: Do I need to refine my Arrendal before every evolution?
A: Yes. Your Arrendal must be refined to at least +1 (the minimum required enhanced value for that stage) before the NPC will allow evolution. Each evolution threshold has a different minimum — check the requirements table above.
Q: What happens to my Arrendal's appearance after evolution?
A: The Arrendal changes its visual appearance on a successful evolution, reflecting its new stage. This is cosmetic confirmation that the evolution succeeded.
