Recycle 2 Guide: How It Differs from Recycle 1 and Why It Matters

Curated from the Rohan community · Published June 14, 2026

Most players use Recycle 1 without realizing there's a second system — Recycle 2 — that works differently and unlocks additional upgrade possibilities. Here's what separates the two and when you should use each.

Recycle 1 vs. Recycle 2 — The Core Difference

Recycle 1 Recycle 2
Slots Item 1 + Item 2 Item 1 + Item 2 + Stone Slot
Purpose Combine items to produce upgraded results Upgrade items with percentage-based outcomes
Stone Slot Not available Available — for Preservation Stones
Result Fixed output range Depends on item's given percentage
Fail possible? No No — always produces a result

How Recycle 2 Works

Recycle 2 is a system specifically designed for upgrading items, not just combining them. Here's what the system tells us:

  • You can only place items that are registered as a recipe on Recycle 2
  • The result depends on the item's given percentage (each item has an inherent success/upgrade rate)
  • Adding Preservation Stones improves the chance of receiving better results
  • You may use the additional Item Slot to increase chances of receiving better items
  • All shop-resellable items can be used for increasing chance
  • The higher the value of the item used for increasing chance, the higher the chance to receive a better item
  • Novice version of Preservation Stone does NOT work in Recycle 2 recipes
  • Preservation Stones must be placed in the designated Stone Slot — not just anywhere in the recipe

The Stone Slot — A Visual Indicator

When you place ingredients 1, 2, or 3 into Recycle 2, a banner appears to confirm the items are registered and valid for the recipe. This is your confirmation that you've got the right materials before hitting Recycle.

What Uses Recycle 2?

Sealing Universal Talismans is a key use case:

Universal Talisman (+1 to +20) + Talisman Seal Scroll
= Sealed Universal Talisman (+1 to +20) [tradable]

The full range from +1 all the way to +20 is accessible through Recycle 2's sealing table.

Why Does This Matter?

The percentage-based system in Recycle 2 means strategic use of your Stone Slot directly affects your outcome quality. Unlike Recycle 1 where Preservation Stones are part of the recipe, in Recycle 2 they're a separate input that boosts your result — and using higher-value items in the additional slot can further tilt the odds in your favor.

Quick Tips

  • Never use Novice Preservation Stones in Recycle 2 — they simply don't work here. Use Rare or Unique versions only.
  • Place your Preservation Stone in the designated Stone Slot, not as a regular item input.
  • The banner confirmation that appears when ingredients are valid is your green light — if it doesn't appear, your items aren't registered for that recipe.
  • Higher-value items used to increase chance = better possible outcomes.

FAQ

Q: Do all Recycle recipes work in both Recycle 1 and Recycle 2?
No — recipes are registered to a specific system. If a recipe is for Recycle 2, it won't work in Recycle 1 and vice versa.

Q: Can Recycle 2 fail completely?
No — like Recycle 1, you always get a result. But the quality of the result is influenced by your Preservation Stone and item choices.

Q: Why use Recycle 2 over Recycle 1?
Because some recipes are only available in Recycle 2, and the percentage-based system with the Stone Slot gives you more control over outcome quality when upgrading valuable items.

Q: What's the best Preservation Stone to use in Recycle 2?
Unique Preservation Stone provides the highest boost. Rare is the next best option. Avoid Novice — it does nothing in Recycle 2.
