Rohan Online Giant Warrior Class Guide — Savage Melee

Curated from the Rohan community · Published June 15, 2026

Giants are the physically dominant race of Rohan — enormous muscled warriors who wield weapons one-handed that every other race needs both hands to lift. They fight with a savagery none of the other races can match, and that brute force defines every class in the Giant tree. The Giant Warrior is the shared base class for all Giants before branching into the spear-wielding Berserker or the dual-wielding Savage at second class advancement.

Rage cranks up the Giant's critical hit damage significantly. Landing a critical strike as a Giant already hurts — Rage makes those crits genuinely threatening. It is a foundational skill that benefits both advanced paths and should be prioritized early.

Bereave is a dual-wield attack that deals heavy damage with both blades at once. Beyond being a powerful hit, Bereave is a preview of the Savage path — dual-wielding is the Savage's signature style, and landing Bereave effectively at the Warrior stage means you are already practicing the mechanics you will need later.

Reap is a polearm attack built for all-purpose damage. It hits hard on its own and hints at the Berserker path, where polearm reach and sustained pressure define the playstyle.

The two Giant advanced classes represent opposite philosophies. Berserker specializes in spear and polearm combat — reach, sustained stats from Berserk, and the ability to punish ranged attackers with Retaliate. Savage goes all-in on dual-wield brutality — maximum offensive aggression, slows to prevent escape, and the unique Storming Cross mechanic that rewards carrying a Brain item in your inventory. Your preference for Bereave (dual-wield feel) vs Reap (polearm reach) during the Warrior phase is a reasonable indicator of which branch will suit you.

Quick Tips

  • Level Rage early — critical damage is valuable on both advanced paths and wastes no investment regardless of which you pick.
  • Practice landing Bereave and Reap at the Warrior stage to get comfortable with the weapon type you plan to use post-advancement.
  • Giants are melee-only — positioning matters; close gaps aggressively and do not let ranged classes dictate range.
  • Decide your second-class path before advancing so you can gear toward either polearms (Berserker) or dual-wield weapons (Savage) in advance.

FAQ

Q: Is the Giant Warrior weak compared to the advanced classes?
A: The Warrior is a leveling phase, not a permanent class — all Giants advance to Berserker or Savage. Rage and both weapon skills are effective through the leveling range, so the Warrior stage is not a handicap.

Q: Which is stronger, Berserker or Savage?
A: Both are strong in different areas. Berserker offers sustained combat dominance with a defensive anti-kite tool. Savage delivers more burst and has the unique Storming Cross mechanic. Playstyle preference should drive the choice more than raw power comparison.

Q: Can Giants play in a party or are they pure solo?
A: Giants are primarily DPS contributors in group content. They lack healing or support utility, but their raw damage output makes them welcome in any party composition. Berserkers hold up better in prolonged group fights; Savages excel at eliminating priority targets quickly.

Q: What weapon should I use as a Giant Warrior?
A: Either a polearm or a pair of dual-wield weapons, depending on your planned second class. Using a polearm gives you the strongest Reap damage; dual-wielding makes Bereave hit both blades. Both are viable — your advanced class choice should guide the decision.
