Igniel Armor 5-Piece Set Effects — Attack vs Defense Bonus

Equipping all five pieces of the same Transcended Igniel armor set gives you a 5-piece set bonus. The bonus depends on which variant you use. The Attack set gives a damage penetration bonus. The Defense set gives a damage reduction bonus. Both sets also give the same large HP and MP increase.

You need all 5 pieces of the same variant to activate the full set effect.

Set Pieces Needed HP Bonus MP Bonus Unique Bonus
Attack Set 5× Attack variant pieces +25,000 +15,000 Penetrate Damage Drop +5%
Defense Set 5× Defense variant pieces +25,000 +15,000 Damage Reduction +5%

Transcendence Igniel Attack Set — 5-piece set effect showing HP 25000, MP 15000, Penetrate Damage Drop 5%

Transcendence Igniel Defense Set — 5-piece set effect showing HP 25000, MP 15000, Damage Reduction 5%

What the Unique Bonuses Mean

Penetrate Damage Drop +5% (Attack Set):
This reduces the enemy's penetration damage against you by 5%. It helps if enemies hit you with penetration-type attacks. This benefits players who deal damage but still want some survivability.

Damage Reduction +5% (Defense Set):
This reduces all incoming damage by 5%. It is a flat defensive bonus that helps in both PvP and PvE situations. It benefits tanks and support players who need to stay alive longer.

The 5 Pieces Required

You need all five slots to complete the set:

  • Igniel Helmet (Attack or Defense)
  • Igniel Armor (Attack or Defense)
  • Igniel Tasset (Attack or Defense)
  • Igniel Gauntlets (Attack or Defense)
  • Igniel Boots (Attack or Defense)

All five pieces must be the same variant. Mixing Attack and Defense pieces does not give any set bonus.

Item Stats

Attack vs Defense — Which Set to Choose

Situation Recommended Set
DPS / damage classes in PvP or PvE Attack Set
Tank or support in party play Defense Set
Classes that mix both roles (hybrid) Attack Set (more flexible unique options)

The HP and MP bonus (+25,000 HP and +15,000 MP) is the same for both sets. The decision comes down to the unique 5th-piece bonus. Damage dealers usually prefer Penetrate Damage Drop to reduce burst damage spikes. Tanks prefer Damage Reduction for steady survival.

Quick Tips

  • You can mix Attack and Defense pieces while you build your set. Just know you will not get the 5-piece bonus until all 5 pieces match.
  • Use the Igniel Armor Change Ticket from NPC Tenzo (100 Relics each) to switch any piece between Attack and Defense variants if you change your mind.
  • The set effect icon appears in your character screen when all 5 matching pieces are equipped.
  • The Armor of Endless Flames (a 4-socket costume from NPC Teros) does not count as part of the Igniel armor set.

FAQ

Q: Do I get any bonus from wearing 3 or 4 matching pieces?
A: No. The set effect only activates when all 5 pieces match. There is no partial set bonus.

Q: Can I use a mix of Attack and Defense pieces and still get a set bonus?
A: No. All 5 pieces must be the same variant (all Attack or all Defense) to get the 5-piece bonus.

Q: Is the Penetrate Damage Drop or Damage Reduction better for PvP?
A: It depends on your role. Damage dealers benefit more from Penetrate Damage Drop. Tankers and healers benefit more from Damage Reduction. Both bonuses are useful in PvP.

Q: Does the set bonus apply to the Igniel Shield and Guarder?
A: No. The 5-piece set only counts body armor pieces (Helmet, Armor, Tasset, Gauntlets, Boots). The Shield and Guarder are off-hand items with separate stats.
