5-Socket Costume Guide: Enhancement and Gender Conversion Explained

Curated from the Rohan community · Published June 14, 2026

5-socket costumes in Rohan Online have two upgrade paths most players don't fully understand: enhancement to increase power, and conversion to change the costume's gender while keeping your progress. Here's how both work.

Path 1: Enhancement

Boosting your 5-Socket Costume's enhancement level uses a three-item recipe:

5-Socket Costume + Same Type 5-Socket Costume + Safe Enhancement Stone
= 5-Socket Costume (+1)

Key Rules

  • Both costumes must be the same type — you can't mix different costume styles
  • Works with both IM and tradeable versions of Safe Enhancement Stones — so you can source stones from other players on the market
  • Each successful enhance adds +1 to the costume's enhancement level

Safe Enhancement Stone Sources

Since both IM and tradeable versions work, you have two sourcing options:
- Item Mall — direct purchase
- Player Market — buy from other players (often more cost-effective)

Path 2: Conversion (Gender Change — Keep Enhancement Level)

This is the mechanic most players miss. If you want to switch your costume to the opposite gender version without losing your enhancement progress:

5-Socket Costume (0–10 enhancement) + 5-Socket Costume Conversion Stone
= Gender Change (same enhancement value, opposite gender costume)

What "Gender Change" Means

  • Your enhancement level carries over completely
  • The costume switches to the opposite gender version of the same costume type
  • You don't lose any of your enhancement investment

This is a huge quality-of-life feature — if you've enhanced a costume to +8 but found one you like the look of better, conversion lets you switch without starting over.

Enhancement vs. Conversion: When to Use Each

Goal Use
Make costume stronger Enhancement
Change costume appearance Conversion
Preserve enhancement while changing look Conversion

Also: Flaming Soul Armor (4-Socket) Sealing

If you have a Flaming Soul Armor (4-socket), a separate recipe lets you seal it for trading:

Flaming Soul Armor (4-socket) + Rare Preservation Stone
= Sealed Armor of Blazing Souls (4-socket) [tradable]

Quick Tips

  • Farm Safe Enhancement Stones from the player market — tradeable versions work just as well as IM ones and are often cheaper.
  • Enhance before converting if you want to maximize level first, then switch appearance.
  • The Conversion Stone is specific to 5-socket costumes — don't confuse it with other costume materials.
  • Check the market for high-enhancement 5-socket costumes — buying a pre-enhanced one and converting it to your preferred appearance can save grinding time.

FAQ

Q: Is there a maximum enhancement level for 5-socket costumes?
The conversion recipe specifies levels 0–10, suggesting +10 is the practical cap for conversion. Enhancement cap in-game may extend beyond this.

Q: Can I convert a costume that's been enhanced past +10?
Based on the conversion recipe, it specifies 0–10 enhancement. Check in-game if higher levels are supported.

Q: Does conversion change the socket count?
No — a 5-socket costume remains 5-socket after conversion.

Q: Where do I get the 5-Socket Costume Conversion Stone?
Available through the Item Mall and events. Check current IM listings for availability.
